I thoroughly enjoyed Jazz-Java-Jesus. The short devotionals contained just enough "meat" without choking the reader and the activities at the end were relaxing. Two thumbs up to Ms. Proctor for effectively combining three powerful concepts.

Author Aleysha R. Proctor has certainly made my sharing is caring list. It is a wonderful read, which makes you want to do as the title claims. Listen to some comfy (for my soothing Christian jazz) as I sip my cappuccino; as I read this devotional. Ahh, my soul is soothed. Jazz, Java, and Jesus is an inspirational read; reminding of God's promises to YOU, ME, and US....God's people. I was truly impressed and delighted by the cross word puzzles that Aleysha added in the back of the book. 4 stars read for me!
You need a few moments to relax. Your day has been filled with the trials and tribulations of life, and you desire the presence of your heavenly Father. Pick up this short book of devotions, poetry, word search, and crossword puzzles to soothe your soul. Be encouraged by the inclusion of life changing scriptures accompanied by the words written to edify.
Proctor pens a short book of interactive scripture based relaxation, strengthening, and intellectual fun. Unlike other standardized devotions, she offers quick reads to be enjoyed with her favorite liquid calmer coffee - decaf, of course. Many of the entries are punctuated with excited proclamations, so while the tone is not soft or subtle, the short messages will remind you of God's promises in His word. A refreshing addition to this book is the inclusion of the puzzles for enjoyment when reading is not enough.

In Jazz, Java & Jesus, Aleysha R. Proctor has created a motivational study guide, complete with scriptures and opportunities to take notes at the end of each chapter. Ms. Proctor provides her readers with a scripture and then breaks the scripture down into its simplest form. In a lot of cases, she explains the scripture as if she was talking directly with her readers. This is a book that one does not read just once. This title provides encouragement and reference to everyday problems of everyday Christians and non-Christians.
I gave this title a 3.5 stars because I didn't want to give it a 3, yet I did not want to give it a 4. This book makes a lovely addition to a book collector who has book with a similar message and speak as Jazz, Java & Jesus. Although, many Christian books such as this have come across my desk lately, I will say, in addition to this title, being an easy read, an easy reference tool and well organized, its uniqueness is offset by various faith bases puzzles and answer key.
